itopia Appoints Al Monserrat, former Citrix SVP of Worldwide Sales and Services, to its Board of Directors

Seasoned enterprise technology executive joins itopia, strengthening leadership team and positioning company for high-growth.

 itopia, the leading cloud automation and orchestration solution purpose-built for Google Cloud, announced today the appointment of Al Monserrat to its board of directors, effective immediately. Monserrat’s career spans more than twenty-five years across large enterprises and entrepreneurial ventures within software, cloud, mobility, security, and business strategy. Monserrat’s career includes leadership roles at Nuance (NASDAQ: NUAN), where he was President of the Imaging division; RES Software, where he was CEO; and Citrix (NASDAQ: CTXS), as SVP of Worldwide Sales and Services, where he was part of the leadership team that grew the company from hundreds of millions to more than $3B in 2014.

Background on Al Monserrat

Monserrat brings more than 25 years of enterprise software experience, including 15 years at Citrix. Monserrat ran Worldwide Sales and spearheaded the growth that took Citrix from hundreds of millions to more than $3B in revenue. Monserrat led the transformation of field operations and was instrumental in crafting the strategy that helped Citrix grow from a single-product company in North America to a multi-product global industry leader.

Following Citrix, Monserrat became CEO of RES Software, an innovative software company that helped IT support hybrid end-user computing (EUC) environments. During his two years at RES, Monserrat saw the team through a period of explosive growth, including a complete overhaul of product, internal infrastructure, and implementation of best-in-class people practices. He led the company through acquisition by Ivanti in 2017. 

Most recently, Monserrat was Executive Vice President and General Manager of Nuance Communications’ Document Imaging Division. Under his leadership, the division’s flagship product was re-positioned, transformed, and successfully sold in 2019.
