What we’re looking forward to at Google Cloud Next’19

Written by Alexander Shapero on Mar 29, 2019

Google Cloud Next’19 is just around the corner. Starting on April 9th, IT pros and partners will gather in San Francisco to share solutions, discuss the state of hyperscale cloud computing and brainstorm about the future of the cloud in a series of breakouts, keynotes, spotlights, panels and bootcamps.

We’re excited to hear what Google Cloud will be announcing this year, and for Thomas Kurian’s first keynote as the new CEO. Kurian, a former long-time executive at Oracle, replaced Diane Greene last fall, and has already been making some intriguing statements about stepping up the competition in the hyperscale cloud market. In February, at the Goldman Sachs Technology and Internet Conference, he said, “We are hiring some of the best talent from around the industry to grow our sales organization, and you will see us competing much more aggressively as we go forward”. As a Google Cloud Technology Partner, we’re all ears.

While there will be a ton of topics covered, there is one session of particular relevance to itopia that will take place on Wednesday, April 10th: “Running Your Active Directory and AD-Dependent Servers on Google Cloud”. During the breakout, Siddharth Bhai, Product Manager at Google Cloud, will be joined once again by Kenny Hill, Director and Distinguished Engineer, Capital One. The two will discuss how enterprises can leverage Google Cloud to run existing AD on-premises domains and extend those to the cloud. We announced support for AD-extension to GCP at last year’s event and have an exciting new feature in itopia Cloud Automation Stack (CAS) that expands on that this year.

If you’re not familiar with our technology, itopia’s Cloud Automation Stack (CAS) is a complete enterprise VDI migration and IT infrastructure management solution purpose-built for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments. CAS gives enterprise IT departments and service providers the ability to onboard and manage all things IT on GCP—including virtual desktops and applications, graphic workstations, hybrid Active Directory (AD) environments, AD-based disaster recovery, and Windows and Linux virtual machines—all through a single-pane-of-glass management portal. CAS is fully integrated in the GCP Marketplace.

The team at itopia is excited to participate as a Premier Google Cloud Technology Partner and sponsor for the second year in a row. We will be giving demos on the floor in Moscone South, at booth #S1501. If you haven’t scheduled one yet, you can do so here – or simply stop by to chat with one of our team members. We’d also love to hear what you are up to!
